The Three Yogas

Krishna is very clear that there are three disciplined paths (yogas) to achieve union with the Divine or, in the Gita’s language, to reach Him.

He recognizes that some prefer to meditate on the Divine. Others will seek the Divine by serving the poor, or selflessly performing their duties (karma yoga). Those intellectually gifted are inclined to pursue the path of reason and intellectual discrimination (jnana yoga). It is human to be disposed differently towards the search for the transcendent.
